Gustavo is a double-degree student pursuing a Diplôme d’Ingénieur at Télécom Paris and a Bachelor’s degree in Physics at the University of Campinas (Unicamp), Brazil. Driven by a strong interest in quantum computing and quantum foundations, he previously conducted research within the Mathematical Foundations of Quantum Theory Group at Unicamp under the supervision of Prof. Marcelo Terra Cunha, exploring various aspects of quantum theory applied to two-qubit systems.
This summer, Gustavo is completing a research internship supervised by Prof. Peter Brown, focusing on the role of polynomial optimization via Semidefinite Programming (SDP) within the framework of Quantum Singular Value Transformation (QSVT) for modeling quantum circuits and algorithms, such as Grover’s algorithm. Following this internship, he will join the Master 2 QMI (Quantique, Mathématique, Informatique) program at Institut Polytechnique de Paris (IP Paris) this September.
