QMI Master's Degree

M2 Degree in Quantum, Mathematics, and Computer Science

Who can apply

To apply, you should have completed (or be completing) the first year of a Master (or an equivalent degree abroad) in Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field. It is preferrable that you have followed at least one quantum theory course already (see the FAQ for more information).

How to apply

We are now welcoming applications to the QMI M2 for the 2026-2027 academic year. There are three ways to apply to the QMI M2:

Applications to IP Paris (PhD track or standard) should be made through the IP Paris platform. More information can also be found in the FAQ.

Your application file has to include:

The CV should include the names of two researchers that we can contact for further reference.

Advice on writing your motivation letter

Your motivation letter should demonstrate your ability to follow the program, and explain why you would like to join QMI. It should include a paragraph explaining your past curriculum, and a paragraph explaining what you would like to do after your Master's. It can also mention, for instance, what your favourite domains are among the ones covered in our curriculum. Concrete elements demonstrating your ability or your motivation (awards, internship experiences, readings...) are very appreciated.

Use of AI tools: We strongly discourage the use of ChatGPT or other generative AI tools to write your motivation letter. This is not because we find their use illegitimate, but because they usually produce empty texts containing no actual salient information, which makes it very difficult for us to assess your application.

Scholarships

For the 2026-2027 academic year, scholarships will be available through the IP Paris PhD track to cover living costs of QMI students.

Important: These scholarships will only be available to students who apply to QMI through the IP Paris PhD track. You will not be eligible to them if you are admitted into QMI through the standard IP Paris Masters admission or through Université Paris Saclay. Keep in mind that applications to the PhD track will close on January 20th, 2026; it will not be possible to apply to the scholaships after this date.
